6. ENCOUNTERS & CONFLICT

The Labyrinth manifests through procedural encounters. Whether through movement or narrative failure, the Labyrinth eventually makes its presence known.

6.1 The Master Spawn Table

Roll 1D10 (Unmodified) to determine the category of the manifestation.

The Weighted Category Rule: If your Discord Modifier is positive (+1 or +2), the ENEMY bracket expands:

6.2 The Clash (Combat Resolution)

When an ENEMY manifests, combat is resolved through a singular, high-friction roll.

  1. Initiate Clash: Roll 1D10 + Combat (CV) against the Enemy Combat Value.
  2. Seeker Success: Deal Weapon Damage to Enemy HP.
  3. Seeker Failure: Take Enemy Damage (minus Armor) to Seeker HP.
  4. Critical Failure (Natural 1): Your Gear becomes DAMAGED (-1 DMG).

THE LOOT PIPELINE If you defeat an ELITE or NIGHTMARE enemy through combat, you gain an automatic Discovery Roll (Rule 7.2) with a +2 bonus in addition to your Victory Surge.
